Quiz forms an integral part of the Group Activities conducted in our balvikas classes. As an interesting and entertaining testing tool, it makes learning fun for children. They find it engaging and exciting. It helps them to retrieve information from memory and such retrieval turns out to be a memory-aid for every child.
For the guru, it is an effective tool to quickly assess the progress of not only the individual children but also the entire class, thereby enabling her to identify gaps in knowledge and highlights the areas, if any, that need to be revised again.
For example, if most of the questions on ‘Slokas’ have not been answered correctly by any team, more practice can be given by the guru in the next few balvikas classes.
Apart from the academic aspects, Quizzes help in boosting confidence and self-esteem in children. They improve their problem-solving skills and critical thinking. Each child learns to assess his performance in comparison to his team. They encourage healthy competition by providing opportunities to hone their teamwork. They learn to work as a team and appreciate one another, as they are working towards a common goal.
