National symbols are objects, colours or logos that the people of any nation easily recognize and identify with. They bring about a sense of unity and patriotism. They generally have a great historical and cultural significance in that country. In some instances, these symbols might have been born during tough times like wars and natural disasters to mobilize the masses and bring about national unity.

In India there are a number of representations for our country amongst our citizens and abroad. The most prominent ones are the Indian flag, Ashoka’s pillar and the slogan “Satyameva Jayate”. There are other national symbols like the Tiger (national animal), Peacock (national bird), Lotus (national flower). Swami has extolled about the greatness of this land that is Bharat. We must take pride in our history and culture and be extraordinary representatives of our country wherever we go.
