Zoroastrianism – Main Teachings

1. Belief in Supreme and Universal God:
   • Ahura Mazda is the supreme omniscient and omnipotent God – the creator as well as the sustainer
   • He resides in the heart of human beings as truth and righteousness
2. Belief in the duality of existence:
   • The world is a battle ground between good and evil forces.
   • The Lord uses his power to destroy evil and falsehood in the world.
3. The overriding ethical principle of Zoroastrianism is Humata, Hukhta, Huvarshta
   • “Good thoughts, Good words and Good deeds.”
4. Belief in the sanctity of elements:
   • Fire, water, earth and air should be kept pure by not allowing the evil entities to pollute them and by leading righteous lives.
