The Mahabharata was written down by Lord Ganesha upon dictation by sage Vyasa. It is the story of two groups of cousins, the Pandavas and the Kauravas and their fight for the throne of Hastinapura. It is one of the two epics of Hinduism that teaches us a plethora of lessons through the actions and conduct of each of the main characters. But amongst these lessons, Swami has highlighted Dharma as the foremost important quality to imbibe in our lives. It is the main principle of our lives and all good will come upon us if we uphold Dharma.

The Mahabharata can be taught to the children considering the group’s level of understanding. Other small stories are also present within the Mahabharata and can be narrated as standalone lessons with values of courage, devotion, love and kindness to name a few.
