Man – The Prime Creation

From this Creation has emerged Man, a product of the five elements and sustained by the same energy of Love. Man is supreme in Creation because he alone has the capacity to understand the Truth about himself and of the Creation itself. Since Creation, man is on a long pilgrimage towards Divine. Millions of births, billions of years of upward struggle, have led man in reaching the present stage.

‘Countless beings have lived on this planet since creation but man is the crown of animal kingdom; he is the summit of living beings. It is only man that can investigate his own self, and reveal the divinity, which is his reality. This is why birth as a human being is considered a rare gift.’

– Sri Sathya Sai

Man is innately divine, bliss is his nature; divinity is inherent in every cell of the human body. Sorrow and suffering are alien to him. Man is endowed with the skills, by the practice of which he can experience Divine Bliss, and radiate the innate power of Love.

Baba has drawn our attention to the fact that man has a strong relationship with the five elements of Nature. This relationship between man and Nature is integral, as man is also a manifestation of the five elements with the Divine Energy as his source. The five elements are inside us as well as outside; all the time, we are exchanging these elements within and without. For example, when we eat food, some part is assimilated and the other part goes back to nature. We breathe in air, absorb some of it, and exhale the rest with some more elements.

Thus, all the time, there is an exchange with nature. ‘From dust thou cometh, to dust thou returneth’ as far as the physical elements are concerned.

Human organism is a completely integrated entity acting with innate ability to maintain balance in varying circumstances. The human body has a self-healing system with a natural tendency to maintain equilibrium between the elements. It eliminates the excess of elements and takes in those required through food, air, sunlight, etc. Any excess of light, in intensity or frequency, any high pitch or loud noise, irritate man.

‘Creation contains five elements. However, man has a sixth element in him, which is Supreme Love.’

– Sri Sathya Sai (20th May 2000)

‘Life starts with Love. The sweetness of love coming out of life is the great and unique principle that is at the source of everything’.

– Sri Sathya Sai (13th January 1992)

In revealing the symbiotic relationship between man and the five elements, Bhagawan Baba has raised all objects in Nature – animate as well as the inanimate – to a level of sacredness. Man is privileged to understand this holistic relationship.

  • Man is the prime Creation in Nature.
  • All knowledge is placed in the mind of man.
  • The relationship between Nature and man is integral.
  • The same five elements are inside as well as outside man.
  • A balance of the five elements inside man will give him peace and happiness.
