How to Play
  1. The Guru explains to the class that the hand gestures to be followed by them should be as per the COMMAND issued by her and NOT by the gestures done by her.
  2. She explains the game further.
  3. They should raise both hands with the palms facing towards them when the Guru says SAIRAM
  4. On the other hand, when the Guru says – RADHESHYAM – the palms should face outside.
  5. First the Guru repeats both the names alternatively (Example: Sairam – Radheshyam).
  6. But gradually her speed increases and she could say- Sairam, Radheshyam, Radheshyam, Radheshyam, Sairam and so on.
  7. Along with her commands, her gestures may or may not be synchronising and this point must be emphasised.
  8. The game begins. It is likely that children follow more of what they see than what is told to them!!
  9. The game continues and those who do contrary to her command are eliminated one by one. The one who remains not out is naturally the winner!
Tips to Gurus:
  • Class discussion – Children’s younger siblings follow what their elder brothers/sisters DO (as proved by the game). Hence, they should be watchful of their own actions before giving words of advice to their younger ones!
