Trigunas
Objective:
A fun-filled activity that requires children to segregate a mixture of three items representing the Satwa, Rajo and Tamo gunas and practice Satwic gunas.

Materials Required:
Three Varieties of Pulses
- Chickpeas (Kabuli chana) -Satwik
- Black chickpeas (kala chana) – Tamsic
- Kidney beans (Rajma) – Rajo
- Small plates/bowls for keeping each of the pulses
Preparatory work for the Guru:
None
How to Play
- The Guru divides her class into smaller groups.
- Each group is given the mixture of the three pulses.
- The children have to team up together and segregate the three pulses representing the trigunas as quickly as possible.
- The group that is able to do it first is the winner.
Tips to Gurus:
- Class discussion after the activity will be effective, throwing light on the following
- Examples of the three gunas with respect to Ravan, Vibhishan and Kumbhakarn (Rajo, Satwik, Tamo respectively)
- The need to inculcate Satwik traits like truth, bhakti etc.,
- Also how each team divided the task among themselves and the benefits in doing so.
