Sense of Smell – Soap

Clean Body and Mind

Dear children. Last week we experienced the power of sight. This week let us understand how important our nose and the sense of smell.

Sit straight! Take a deep breath in! Breathe out slowly, with your eyes closed.

Let us now enter a flower garden. The huge garden is green with rows and rows of trees and plants that are full of flowers – flowers of different colours and sizes that fill the garden in fragrance. Oh, there are the pink roses and next to them are the white jasmine. Then we see a pond with pink lotuses and white lilies. As we walk along, the smell of the wet soil wafts through the air, as though it will rain soon.

We come to a small patch where a gardener is waiting with several pots of plants. We can all plant a sapling each. The gardener helps us dig the soil, plant the sapling in the soil, and water it. We feel so happy to see a small row of saplings that we have all just planted as they sway gently in the breeze.

Our hands are dirty with soil. There is a small bucket of water nearby and a soap dispenser too. We take a drop of the liquid soap and it has a fresh fragrance. We gently rub our hands in the soap and wash it with water. The soap and water remove all the dirt from our hands that now look clean and smell so good. We keep our hands near the nose and feel refreshed.

As soap and water are used to clean the dirt from our body, can we think of ways to clean our mind that has so many thoughts and feelings?

When the mind gets dirty with negative thoughts, use the ‘Sai Soap’ to clean it. By using the name of Sai with water of devotion, our mind becomes pure and clean. Remember, to clean our body we use soap. To purify the mind, we use the name of Sai.

Slowly say ‘Sai, Cleanse my mind and fill it with Sai Nama’. Feel the mind that is clean and pure, filled with love.

Now gently open your eyes with smile and love

Questions:
  1. How does the mind gets dirty?
  2. How can we clean a dirty mind?
