Tirupur Kumaran

Tirupur Kumaran was an Indian revolutionary who participated in the Indian independence movement. He was born in Chennimalai, a small town in Erode distict in Tamil Nadu on 4th October 1904. He was the first son of Nachimuthu and Karuppayi. Owing to family circumstances he had to stop his education at the primary level and started working as a handloom weaver. He married Ramayi at the age of 19. He went to Tirupur in search of better job. He was attracted by the Gandhian principles and became an ardent follower of Gandhi. He participated in protest marches against the British government. He also founded the Desabandhu Youth Assosiation.
