Creating Game Materials
“Life is a game, play it” is a familiar saying of Swami. Value Games are an integral component of group activities in our Balvikas. Some of these games are verbal (Example: God says – – – -).
On the other hand, for many other value games (Example: Snake & Ladder of Values) the specific game boards have to be kept ready by the Guru. Example: ‘Dharma chakra’ is one such game.
Other game materials like jig-saw puzzle chips, matching cards out of cardboards for playing matching games are often required.
In some cases, as in the ‘Bhaja Govindam’ activity small cartons are to be converted into boxes with each verse written on them.
Children will retain their understanding of complex concepts by playing fun-filled games based on them.
Group 3 children can be assigned the stupendous task of creating such games as their project work. These can be made with waste materials too!! They will enjoy doing this in small groups.
The different talents of the children will be put to use, some can do craft parts, some colouring and writing on them and so on, under the able guidance of their Gurus!
