See Good
See Good
Objective:
This activity aims at drilling children in seeing good in others and not indulge in criticism of others as our Bhagavan has always been insisting.
Related Values:
- Love
- Appreciation
Materials Required:
- Slips of paper, each containing the name of a child.
- A Bowl
- Music/bhajan
Preparatory work for the Guru:
None
How to Play
- The Guru asks the children to form a circle.
- She keeps all the slips in a bowl and hands it over to a child to pass the bowl to the next child who passes on to the next one and so on.
- Music is played throughout.
- When the music stops, the child who has the bowl at that time picks out a slip from it and reads out the name, ex. Uma.
- Now the child who has the slip has to tell a good quality in Uma (Example: Caring).
- Now the slip containing the name ‘Uma’ is removed and the bowl is again passed on with music playing again.
- The game is continued in this manner until all the names are exhausted and every child gets a chance.
- If a child happens to pick up her own name, then she has to tell a bad habit of hers (Example: Angry)
Tips to the Gurus:
A class discussion on how important it is to focus on and emulate the good qualities and habits of others while trying to get rid of one’s own bad traits and habits, instead of indulging in criticizing one of the sins committed by our tongue, as often told by Swami!!
