Bursting the vices
Players: Group II & Group III children
Values Inculcated:
- To help children to understand the Human Values: Peace, Love, Non-violence, Right Conduct and Truth.
- To discriminate values against the vices.
- To realise that by conquering and bursting the vices, happiness is naturally achieved.
Materials Required:
- 4 balloons and strings per child (the colour should be such that elders can write on the balloons)
- 1 marker
- Music Player (optional)
Preparatory Effort:
- The guru should speak about the importance of Human Values in life to be happy.
- Explain that the game will help them to use the inner sense of discrimination and burst the vices, enemies of man.
How to play:
- Divide the children in two teams.
- Each child is given 4 blown up balloons alternating Human Values (Peace, Love, Non Violence, Right Conduct or Truth) and Vices (Lust, Anger, Greed, Delusion, Pride or Jealousy). The guru should make sure that each team is given same quantity of balloons with Human Values and Vices.
- The participants are asked to ties them around their own legs and arms. If any balloon is burst by that time, the guru may give a new one.
- No talking is allowed.
- When the music starts, the participants are given the order to burst the Vices balloons of his/her team by sitting on the balloons.
- None is allowed to burst the balloons with hands or other parts of body.
- None is allowed to burst their own balloons.
- Child should keep carefully the balloons with Human Values.
- None is allowed to interact with others.
- As soon as the music stops, the children should stop bursting the balloons. (The Guru can give ample time before the music is stopped).
- The Guru will check both the teams. The Guru will give one point for every balloon that has Human values in it and a negative point for the balloons with vices.
- The team with maximum points will be the winner!
