Onam Greeting
Onam Greeting cards are easy to make and will be an apt gift to our loved ones. The pictures for the greeting cards can be based on the various themes of Onam festival.
Card 1: Pookolam Card
Pookolam means Rangoli made with flowers.
Items required:
- Colour papers
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Thick Card paper (pastel shade)
- Sketch pens/ Glitter pens
Method:
- Cut the colour papers into shapes of small flowers
- Take the card paper and fold it like a Greeting card.
- On the front side, stick the paper flower cut outs in a nice pattern to signify Pookolam.
- You can write the Onam Greetings message in the center of the Pookolam pattern (as shown in the Image).
- Your card is now ready!!!!
- Use your creativity to make different cards.
Card 2: Vallam Kali Snake Boat
Vallam Kali refers to the popular snake boat race during Onam.
Items required:
- Colour papers
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Thick Card paper (pastel shade) for the card.
- Black paper for the snake boat.
- Brown or Gold paper for the umbrella.
- Blue paper for the water.
- Red paper for little hearts.
- Sketchpens/ Glitter pens
Method
- Cut the black paper in the shape of a snake boat and oar.
- Cut the brown/golden paper in the shape of an Umbrella.
- Make long strips of the blue paper for water.
- Take the card paper and fold it like a Greeting card.
- Stick the cut out of the boat, oar and the umbrella as shown in the image.
- Stick the blue paper below for water.
- Make a design with the little red hearts and write an Onam message inside.
- Your card is now ready!!!!
