Maintaining Scrap books
Today’s mass media like television &newspapers focus on news items related to corruption violence, hatred, communal riots and the like, thus radiating negativity all around as a result, our children do not have suitable role models to emulate.
It is only when they see good happenings around them, that they will feel confident and secure and be motivated to “be good and do good”.
It is not that good things are not happening around them. There are indeed many silent sevaks and achievers about whom mention is being made once in a while in newspapers and magazines.
All that our balvikas students have to do is to be alert to such good news items, collect them along with the picture and prepare a scrap book of good news.
Beside each such news clip, the values to be imbibed from that incident also are to be mentioned.
Sample news headlines–
- Visually impaired girl shows others the way (determination, self- confidence)
- Children from elite schools remove 9471kg of trash (cleanliness, love for nature)
- Foreign students teach slum kids (caring & sharing)
- Lord Ganesh’s appeal cut’s across faiths (religious tolerance, brotherhood of man)
- Boatman saves 300 villagers (love, courage)
- Conductor returns passenger’s bag (honesty dutifulness)
