Call & Recall

Objective:

To help improve the memory of the children

Value Inculcated:

Memory Improvements.

Materials required:

Miscellaneous articles (key, chalk, coin, eraser etc.) placed on a tray.

Preparatory work for the guru:

1. 12 Articles are placed in a tray and shown to the children.

Procedure:

1. The guru should show every article (e. g key, chalk etc) to the children.
2. Then, the children say what it is.
3. After that, the children are then asked to close their eyes for 1 minute.
4. The tray is kept covered and the children, each, then have to say one article that they remember seeing
5. All the articles have to be remembered.

Variation:

1. The teacher displays 20 objects on a tray (eg. Inkpot, ruler, book, glass etc.) Children are asked to look at the objects carefully.
2. The objects are removed one by one.
3. About 5 or 6 things are removed
4. The children are asked to recollect which were the objects that were removed and also the order in which they were removed.
