Guidelines to gurus in organizing an interactive Quiz:

The Gurus can organise Quiz, after completing a topic (eg. Life of Young Sai), in order to test their understanding. Children may be intimated well in advance, to ensure good preparation on their part.

  • Monthly or Quarterly, including all the topics covered during that period.
  • Prior to Balvikas Examinations, by way of revising the entire syllabus, thereby boosting their confidence.
  • District level Summer Camps where good exposure can be given to them.
Preparatory work:
  1. The guru must have a Question Bank ready with several types of interesting Questions falling under different categories. For eg.
    • One-word Answers
    • MCQs
    • Yes/No
    • Rapid fire
    • Dumb Charade
    • Audio Clippings
    • Visuals etc.
  2. Next, a time keeper and a score recorder must be there.
  3. Materials like sheets, pens, white board to display the scores, stopwatch, bell etc must be kept ready.
  4. Audio visual aids.
  5. Seating arrangements for the different teams (4 or 5 teams) and those conducting the Quiz.
Balvikas guru must decide:
  • The duration of the Quiz (30 to 40 min).
  • Total number of rounds (say, 10: Five clockwise and five anti clockwise rounds is the common practice.)
  • Category for each round (eg. Audio round/ visual round).
  • The number of questions. Suppose, if there are 5 teams, each round must consist of 5 questions. It is advisable to keep one or two extra questions!.
