Value Guess

Objective:

This game requires the child to transfer a physical sensation to a mental picture and retain a short series of mental pictures in their head to correctly identify the word.

Preparatory work for the Guru:

None

How to play
  1. The Guru organises the class into pairs.
  2. She explains to them as to how to go about it, with a pair of students.
  3. One player writes a value word in capital letters (Example: PEACE) on the back of his partner, using his finger, without uttering the letters.
  4. His partner tries to identify the word by focusing on the letters being written on his back
  5. He may be given two more chances if unable to identify correctly at the first chance.
  6. Scores could be 5 points or 3 points or 1 point depending on the chances availed of.
  7. Partners switch roles and take turns, being the ‘writer’ and the ‘guesser’.
  8. To add more fun to the activity, children can be allowed to change their partners after two rounds.
Variations:
  • For Group2 – Short Swami’s Quotes with 2 or 3 words (Example: Annam Brahma; Love All)
Tips to the Gurus:
  • Guru should play the role of a facilitator by suggesting value words to the ‘writer’ if necessary!!
