Pearls of Devotion

3. Om Shri Sai Sathya-Dharma-Paraayanaaya Namah

[Who is solely devoted (in preaching) the Truth and Righteousness.]

Once, an ardent devotee of Baba, Kasturi, wished for Baba’s visit to ‘His’ house. Baba gently and smilingly replied him that He can be in and out of His house as He liked. But, Kasturi and a few other devotees were very disappointed Baba could not visit their houses on Ganesh Chathurthi Day as He had promised. The devotees visited Baba the same day in dismay. Baba, enjoying the scene, asked if the garland in His portrait snap in to two pieces. Truth dawned on the devotees. Indeed, they had witnessed such a divine event in their houses. Baba, as promised, had visited each one of their houses. The devotees fell at His lotus feet.

Baba’s thought, speech and actions always reflected the principles of Satya and Dharma. Baba was engaged in upholding the attributes of Righteousness (Dharma) and Truth (Satya). As His devotees, the values of Dharma and Satya must be closely connected with our daily living to advance our spiritual lives.
