Sabudhan Kichdi

Ingredients

  • Sabudhan(small) - 250 gms
  • Moong Dal - 100gms
  • Chilli - 2 Big
  • Lemon - 1
  • Coriander - 1 Bunch
  • Ground nut - 20 gms
  • Cashew - 15
  • Mustard - 1/6 Tea spoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1/4 Tea spoon
  • Urad dal - 1/4 Tea spoon
  • Channa Dal - 1/4 Tea spoon
  • Curry leaves - 15
  • salt - 1 tea spoon
  • Oil - 1 table spoon

Method

  1. Soak Sabudhan for 4 hours in a vessel with water level of 1 inch more than sabudhan level.
  2. Soak Moong Dal for 15 min and slightly boil for 5 min in low flame. should not be ovecooked and should not loose texture toomuch.
  3. Take kadai, pour oil.
  4. Put seasoning with Mustard,cumin,urad , Channa dal turmeric.
  5. Add ground nut and cashew. After all the above are turned golden, add chilli.
  6. Add sabudhan and mix well for 3 min.
  7. Add Moong dal, sprinkle salt and mix well and leave for 2 min.
  8. Switch off the flame, add chopped coriander.
  9. After 2-3 minutes squeeze lemon.

VARIATIONS

- Adjust lemon and chilli to suit your taste buds, depending on how sour and spice required.
