CORN SOUP

This delicious and vitamin rich Corn soup is always kids favourite. Lets see how to make in 4 simple steps.

Take out the fiber of the corn cobs.

Pressure cook the corn cobs 2 whistles

 

Scrape the corn kennels from the cob.

Blend the corn kennels by adding little water into a smooth paste.

Transfer the paste to a pan, add water, salt. Stir and allow the soup to boil.

Add pepper and serve hot.

Cook Time: 20 mins
Yields: 2 serves

Ingredients

  • Corn Cobs - 2
  • Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Remove the outer layer of corn cob.
  2. Pressure cook the corn cobs 2 whistles
  3. Scrape the corn kennels from the cob.
  4. Blend the corn kennels by adding little water into a smooth paste.
  5. Transfer the paste to a pan, add water, salt. Stir and allow the soup to boil.
  6. Add pepper and serve hot.
  7. Variations : Saute Spring onion and chopped celery in 1 teaspoon of butter and then add the corn paste. American Sweert Corn Cobs or Regular corn cobs can be used. Both tastes good.

    Sairam instead of grinding all the corn, u can add half of the corn without grinding it will give a crispy touch and the children love to chew it..u can add some small piece of coriander and mint leaves to give a sweet look…
