OOTHAPAM

OOTHAAPAM is very simple to make and it does not need any great expertise. All we need is toppings on oothaapam.we can make with onions, tomatoes, grated carrots , podi and even with panneer, which kids love very much.

Wash and soak raw rice, boiled rice, urad dal, tur dal, fenugreek seeds  for 3 hours.

Grind the above soaked ingredients in a grinder for 20 minutes and add Salt. Transfer the batter to a container and it for fermentation (for about 8-10 hours)

Add chopped onion, coriander leaves, green chillies and curry  leaves just before making oothappam.

Adjust with water and mix well.

Heat iron/non-stick dosa pan and spread the batter with  ladle.

Drizzle oil.

And cook both side.

Same batter can be used to make kuzhi paniyaaram.

With the same batter mini oothapams with different toppings (grated carrots, chopped tomatoes, grated paneer, chutney powder, grated ginger, etc) can be made.
