Ugadhi special pachadi …made of fresh and raw ingredients of various tastes…It has an ayurvedic quality of providing immunity against all types of illness that arise in summer .It is made daily and eaten for a week starting from Ugadhi to Rama navami

UGADHI PACHADI

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 10 medium sized bananas.
  • 5 tbsp powdered jaggery
  • 3 tbsp mango pieces
  • 3 tbsp fried dal (pottukadalai)
  • 4 tbsp grated coconut
  • 1 tbsp neem flowers.
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp ghee

Method

  1. Mash the bananas
  2. add tamarind paste,powdered jaggery, fried dal,mango pieces, grated coconut,neem flowers,ghee,honey.
  3. mix together. Ugadhi pachadi ready

HEALTH BENEFITS

In accordance with Ayurveda it is stated that Ugadi pachadi cleans away the vata, pita, kapha doshalu from one’s body. Ugadi pachadi is a balanced pachadi because it includes nutritional value that purify the system and serves as prophylactics (protection against illness or disease). Food made from neem flower are very well recognized for their flavor in addition to medical use. The neem tree flowers blossom while in the months of April and May. These flowers are a storage facility of anti-oxidants. Neem flowers have specific medical qualities that aren't seen in neem leaves.
