ALOO GOBI PARATHA

Aloo Gobi paratha is a combination of mashed potatoes, cauliflower and spices. This is a very good recipe that can be served for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even for kids lunchbox. Let us see how to make this delicious paratha.
PREPARING PARATHA FILLING:

Get ready with ingredients.

In a fry pan, heat 1 tsp of oil, add Jeera, fennel seeds and fry till it splutters. Then add ginger-garlic paste and fry for a minute.

Add chopped onions and fry.

Now add grated cauliflower and salt and cook for 5 minutes.

Now add mashed potatoes to it.

Now start adding dhaniya powder, Garam masala powder, chaat masala powder and mix well.  Transfer to a plate and leave it to cool. Now make lemon size balls. Paratha Filling is ready.

PREPARING PARATHAS:

Make medium sized ball from the dough.

Dust them with flour and roll into a small circles.

* Place the filling on it.

Cover the filling with dough and make a ball.

Now sprinkle wheat flour and roll the paratha gently.

Now place the paratha in a hot tawa, when one side has become golden brown, flip the paratha.

Brush the paratha with oil or ghee and flip once or twice till you see golden spots on the paratha and they look crisp and well cooked.

Serve hot aloo gobi paratha with fresh yogurt or pickle with some butter.

ALOO GOBI PARATHA

Prep Time: 10 -15 mins
Cook Time: 45 mins
Yields: 8 -10 parathas

Ingredients

  • Boiled potatoes - 2 medium sized
  • Cauliflower - 1/2 ( washed and grated)
  • Onion - 1/2 finely chopped
  • Ginger green chilly paste - 1 tsp
  • Garlic paste ( optional )
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Fennel Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Dhaniya powder - 1 tsp
  • Jeera powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Chaat masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Wheat flour - 1 1/2 cups
  • Ghee -. 8- 10 tsp
  • Salt as required.

Method

  1. PREPARING DOUGH : In a mixing bowl, add wheat flour, salt, oil or ghee and mix well.
  2. Now start adding water slowly and knead to soft dough.
  3. Cover the dough and rest it for 20 minutes.
  4. PREPARING PARATHA FILLING : Boil or steam potatoes in a pressure cooker and mash it.
  5. Wash the cauliflower thoroughly and grate it.
  6. Chop the onion finely.

  14. Stuffing is ready.

    I love Paratha. My children love paratha so also my grand kids. Truly an excellent healthy breakfast. Suggest this to everyone.

    I am very healthy at 76 mainly because I frequently eat paratha as breakfast.
