Beetroot halwa is a very tasty and healthy sweet rich in vitamins and minerals

BEETROOT HALWA

Ingredients

  • Grated Beetroot - 1 cup
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Sugar- 1/4 cup
  • Ghee- 3 tablespoons
  • Cashews- 10
  • Raisins-10

Method

  1. Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan. Fry cashews and raisins. Remove them and set them aside.
  2. To the same pan, add one more tablespoon ghee and fry the grated beetroot for 5 minutes till the raw flavour goes away
  3. Add milk to the pan and mix well with the beetroot. Boil for 1 minute till all milk is absorbed
  4. Add sugar, mix well and cook till all moisture is absorbed
  5. Finally add fried cashews and raisins and mix well
  6. Beetroot halwa is ready
