RIBBON PAKODA

Ribbon Pakoda | Ola Pakkoda is yet another easy and popular snack in South India during Deepavali. The ingredients used for this recipe is besan and rice flour. This snack is also made during Krishna Janmashtami. Let us learn how to make this yummy snack.

Get ready with rice flour, besan, hing, chilli powder, salt and 1 tsp paste of garlic and aniseed .

Mix all ingredients with 1 tsp butter and mix well. Butter gives softness to the snack.

Then add little water. Make soft dough. Get ready with ribbon pakoda plate in the murukku maker.

Press the dough through the murukku maker into medium hot oil.

It takes just half a minute to cook. Remove from oil and drain. After 10 minutes, break the pakoda to smaller pieces.

Ingredients

  • Rice flour-1 cup
  • Besan or gram flour-1/2 cup
  • chilli powder-1 teaspoon
  • Hing - little
  • Paste of garlic and aniseed (big cumin or sombhu) -1 teaspoon
  • salt
  • butter-1 teaspoon
  • Oil for deep frying

Method

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Ribbon pakoda is also called Ola pakoda or Naadaa pakoda. Its normally made during deepavali festival. But we can make it weekly so we have a home made snack for the evening after school or office. Better than buying packed chips or bakery items. It can be stored for 10 days in an airtight container without the need for refrigeration.
