URAD DAL LADDOO

High protien Urad dal laddoo is a popular Andra sweet laddoo. Its given regularly to growing kids (especially girls) as it has high nutrients.

Fry urad dal till dark golden.

Fry rice. Leave to cool. Powder fried urad dal and fried rice.

Get ready with sugar powder, urad dal powder, cardamom powder and cashew nuts.

Mix sugar powder, urad dal powder and cardamom. Fry cashew nuts and add to the powder.

Add ghee and make laddoos.

 

URAD DAL LADDOO

Ingredients

  • Urad white full (blackgram)- 1cup
  • Sugar or jaggery powdered- 1 cup
  • Ghee- 1/2 cup (as needed to make laddoo)
  • Raw rice - 2 teaspoon

Method

  1. Dry roast raw rice seperately for 2 minutes
  2. In a pan, dry roast urad dal on low flame for 15 minutes
  3. Cool the roasted dal and rice..powder in a mixie
  4. To this powder, add sugar or jaggery powder and mix well.
  5. Take small portions of this powder, add melted ghee and make laddoos
  6. VARITATIONS: Sugar can be replaced with jaggery. Almond, cashew, raisins can be fried and added to the powder.

Additional information

The 2 tsp raw rice helps to make the laddoo non-sticky , so it does not stick to the inside of the mouth while eating. We can use white full urad with or without skin
