CHRISTMAS TREE CRAFT – GROUP II
(BEST OUT OF WASTE WITH ICE CREAM STICKS)

Get Ready:
Discuss with children about the festival of Christmas. Elaborate on how the celebrations brings the family together with love. Explain that giving and receiving gifts is an act of love. Baking a cake or cookies at home too is a way of expressing love for the family. Donating used toys, clothes that are in good condition to the underprivileged children is an act of love. Making crafts with waste is an act of love towards the Environment!
Materials required:
- Ice cream sticks.
- Fabric/Acrylic paints.
- Star, sequences.
- Glue, scissors.
- Loads of imagination!
Activity:
1. Take coloured ice cream sticks or paint the sticks of your choice.
2. Cut the ice cream sticks into different sizes as shown in the figure.
3. Stick the ice cream sticks of different sizes onto the brown stick from small to big from top to bottom such that it tapers from down to top.
4. Between the smallest green ice cream stick (top most) and the brown stick you may stick a twine or a rope in a loop as shown in the picture.
5. Decorate the sticks with sequences, stones or stickers.
6. You may make many such Christmas trees and hang it as a decoration on your big Christmas tree or hang these here and there in your room to increase the festive look!
