62. Om Shri Sai Adbhuta Charyaaya Namah

[Salutations to Lord Sai whose activities astonish.]

Baba has put Himself in excruciating circumstances and also has engaged in unusual, astonishing activities to protect His devotees.

Once, Baba was in conversation with Swamy Sadananda. Suddenly, Baba shouted, “Don’t shoot” and fell down unconscious. He left His mortal body for some time. Then He woke up and instructed a telegram be sent to Bhopal which conveyed a message that he instrument was with Him. There was a reply for the telegram from Bhopal. It told the story of an officer of the armed services. The officer was depressed that he was not promoted to the higher rank. He decided to commit suicide and sent his family away. When he was ready to pull the trigger of the revolver, suddenly there was a knock at the door. An old friend and his family came to visit the officer. They all chatted and then the friend left to another friend’s place to stay the night. Then, the officer searched for the revolver and he could not find it. He went in search of his friend to their mutual friend’s home. To his surprise, nobody has visited that friend in the night. Frustrated, he returned home to find the telegram sent by Baba which said the instrument was with him. The officer then realized it was Baba who had come in the form of his friend to save him. Only Baba would have put into practice such astounding drama to save His devotee!
