40. Om Shri Sai Asahaaya-sahaayaaya Namah

Baba helps even the helpless of souls to tranform for the better. Baba had helped a criminal redeem himself.
Kalpagiri, a murderer, escaped from the law and went to The Himalayas. He went in disguise, dressed like a sadhu, and went on to study sacred scriptures. He even could deliver lectures on spiritual practices. He came to know that Shirdi Baba had reincarnated as Satya Sai Baba. He visited Baba at Prashanthi Nilayam. Of course, Baba knew about him and convinced him that he had to undergo punishment for his wrongdoings. He told him to surrender to the police and that his life would be spared. Baba assured him that when he came back from imprisonment, He would adore his neck with sacred mala. The same happened. The murderer surrendered and got life inprisonment. Later he was released by Baba’s grace. The president of India accepted the prisoner’s mercy plea. Upon his return, he was adorned with japamala by Baba. Baba had redeemed a hapless criminal!
