The sacred ash (Thiruneeru) is praised in the Vedas and has the power to remove sorrow and suffering. It gives wisdom, removes impurity, and represents truth. This holy ash belongs to Lord Shiva of Thirualavai, surrounded by cool waters and fertile lands.
