எல்லே இளங்கிளியே! இன்னும் உறங்குதியோ!
சில்லென்று அழையேன்மின் நங்கைமீர்! போதருகின்றேன்

பொருள்:
“”ஏலே என் தோழியே! இளமைக் கிளியே! நாங்களெல்லாம் உனக்காக இவ்வளவு நேரம் காத்திருந்தும், இப்படியெல்லாம் அழைத்தும் உறங்குகிறாயே? என்று சற்று கடுமையாகவே தோழிகள் அவளை அழைத்தனர். அப்போது அந்த தோழி, “”கோபத்துடன் என்னை அழைக்காதீர்கள்! இதோ வந்து விடுகிறேன், என்கிறாள்.
உடனே தோழிகள், “”உன்னுடைய வார்த்தைகள் மிக நன்றாக இருக்கிறது. இவ்வளவு நேரம் தூங்கிவிட்டு இப்போது எங்களிடம் கோபிக்காதே என்கிறாயே, என்று சிடுசிடுத்தனர்.அப்போது அவள், “”சரி..சரி…எனக்கு பேசத்தெரியவில்லை. நீங்களே பேச்சில் திறமைசாலிகளாய் இருங்கள். நான் ஏமாற்றுக்காரியாக இருந்து விட்டுப் போகிறேன், என்கிறாள்.””அடியே! நாங்களெல்லாம் முன்னமே எழுந்து வர வேண்டும். உனக்காக காத்திருக்க வேண்டும். அப்படியென்ன எங்களிடமில்லாத சிறப்பு உனக்கு இருக்கிறது? என்று கடிந்து கொள்கிறார்கள். அவளும் சண்டைக்காரி. பேச்சை விட மறுக்கிறாள். “”என்னவோ நான் மட்டும் எழாதது போல் பேசுகிறீர்களே! எல்லாரும் வந்துவிட்டார்களா? என்கிறாள்.தோழிகள் அவளிடம், “”நீயே வெளியே வந்து இங்கிருப்போரை எண்ணிப் பார். வலிமை பொருந்திய குவலயாபீடம் என்னும் யானையை அழித்தவனும், எதிரிகளை வேட்டையாடும் திறம் கொண்டவனுமான மாயக்கண்ணனை வணங்கி மகிழ உடனே வருவாய், என்கிறார்கள்.

Meaning
