தில்லைவாழ் அந்தணர்கள்
தில்லைவாழ் அந்தணர் மூவாயிரம் பேர். தில்லையில் நடராஜப் பெருமானை வழிபட்டுப் பூசை புரிவதே தம்முடைய தவமாகவும் வாழ்க்கைப் பயனாகவும் கொண்டவர்கள். இவர்கள் நான்கு வேதங்களையும் ஆறு சாஸ்திரங்களையும் முறையாகக் கற்று, அதன்படியே நடந்து, அதனை பிறருக்கு கற்றும் கொடுத்தவர்கள். அந்தணர்களுக்குரிய ஒழுக்கத்தினின்று பிறழாமல், திருநடம் புரியும் பெருமானுக்கு ஆளாக நிற்பதையே செல்வமாகக் கொண்டவர்கள். சுந்தரமூர்த்தி நாயனார் திருத்தொண்டத்தொகை பாட முற்பட்டபொழுது சிவபெருமான், “தில்லை வாழ் அந்தணர்தம் அடியார்க்கும் அடியேன்” என்று முதலடி எடுத்துக் கொடுத்து அருளிய பெருமையுடையவர்கள். இத்தில்லைவாழ் அந்தணர்களை வண்ணக்கோலமாக நீங்களும் வரையலாமே!
‘Thillai Vaazh Anthanars’ who were three thousand in numbers were servitors to Lord Chidambaram Nataraja. They had learnt the four Vedas and six sub-scriptures. They were experts in teaching these scriptures to others. They lead the principled and disciplined life. They offered their own services diligently and this pleased Lord Shiva so much that He gave the first line of Sundarar Murthy Nayarnar’s Thiruthonda Thogai – ”thillai-vāzh – an-thanar-tham – adiyār-kum – adiyën “.
