अथ व्यवस्थितान्दृष्ट्वा धार्तराष्ट्रान्कपिध्वजः ।
प्रवृत्ते शस्त्रसम्पाते धनुरुद्यम्य पाण्डवः ॥ 1.20 ॥

atha vyavasthitaan drishtwaa dhaartaraashtraan kapidhwajah
pravritte shastrasampaate dhanurudyamya paandavah || 1.20 ||

At that time Arjuna, the son of Pandu, seated in the Chariot bearing the flag marked with Hanuman, took up his bow and prepared to shoot his arrows. O king, after looking at the sons of Dhrtarastra drawn in military array, Arjuna then spoke to Lord Krishna these words.

அத வ்யவஸ்திதான்ருஷ்டவா தார்தராஷ்ட்ரான் கபித்வஜ:
ப்ரவருத்தே சஸ்த்ரஸம்பாதே தனுருத்யம்ய பாண்டவ:|| 1.20 || ததா வாக்யமிதமாஹ மஹீபதே

அரசே! அப்பால் குரங்குக் கொடியுடையோனாகிய அர்ஜுனன் போர் துவக்கத் தலைப்பட்டிருந்த திருதராஷ்டிர கூட்டத்தாரைப் பார்த்து, அம்புகள் பறக்க ஆரம்பிக்குமுன், வில்லை ஏந்திக்கொண்டு கிருஷ்ணனுக்கு இச்சொல்லை உரைத்தான்.
